Got a question?

Should I participate in High Ropes if I have a medical condition?

You should not participate in the high ropes course if you have any of the following conditions : recent surgery, fainting or bleeding, dislocation or fracture of a limb, a heart condition, high blood pressure. Pregnant women should not use the course.   If you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs, you may be refused entry.

Is High Ropes safe?

Safety is our highest priority. Guests must wear a harness to do the activity and they cannot enter through the gate unless instructed by a member of the team.  Everyone will be required to wear a helmet.  We recommend trainers and loose fitting clothes - no open toe shoes or heels are allowed.  All loose items should be removed from all parts of the body  (excluding glasses required for vision) and any pockets before entering through the gate to the high ropes.  There are likely to be people underneath you and it is critical that they are kept safe. When in the arena, please ensure that there are no more than two people on a platform at any one time and only one person can be on any activity at any one time.

How many people can I book High Ropes for?

Twelve people is the maximum number you can book for per session. If you would like to book for more please contact our private hire team at hire@thelight.co.uk.

Do I need to sign a waiver to participate in High Ropes?

All guests must sign a waiver agreeing to High Ropes terms and conditions before they can start climbing in the arena. Over 18s must supervise and sign waivers for climbers under 18-years-old.

I am bringing children to High Ropes, do I have to climb too?

Children under 8 years old must be supervised in the high ropes arena by an adult 18+. Children under 12 but over 8, must have a supervising adult remain in The Light venue.

What time will my High Ropes session start?

The time of your session is detailed on your confirmation email. You will need to show this when you check at the High Ropes briefing area and make sure you have signed a waiver for every person.

It’ll last approximately 70 minutes in total and include a safety briefing, followed by a 55 minute climb including 5 minutes to get down.

How long will my High Ropes session last?

The time of your session is detailed on your confirmation email. You will need to show this when you check at the Adventure Climb High Ropes briefing area and make sure you have signed a waiver for every person.

It’ll last approximately 70 minutes in total and include a 15 minute safety briefing, a 55 minute high ropes sessions which includes 5 minutes to get down.

Do you have to watch a safety briefing for High Ropes?

All climbers must attend the safety briefing regardless whether they've been before this is so we can be sure everyone understands the rules.

What should I wear for High Ropes?

Please wear comfortable loose fitting clothing and trainer with good grip to climb in. Long trousers are recommended. For safety reasons, please remove all items and valuables from all parts of the body (excluding glasses required for vision) and any pockets including mobile phones before entering the through the gate to the high ropes. There are likely to be people underneath you and it's critical that they are kept safe.  Long hair must be tied back and jewellery kept to a minimum. Flip-flops, high heels and open toe shoes are also not permitted to be worn on the walls.   We have lockers to store personal belongings.

Can I spectate the High Ropes course?

Yes, there is an area outside the High Ropes arena where you can spectate.

What is the minimum age for High Ropes?

All climbers must be at least 7 years-old and between 1.1 metres and 2.05 metres in height to participate in our high ropes course.

Everyone must wear a helmet to participate.

It is not suitable for people who have a fear of heights.  If you are not sure, we recommend that you book a session on the Climbing Walls before attempting our High Ropes course.
