Top Tips to Improve Your American Pool Game
Want to step up your pool game and impress your mates? Here are four tips to help you pot like a champion
1

Perfect Your Stance & Grip
A solid stance helps with accuracy and control. Keep your feet shoulder-width apart, lean in comfortably, and grip the cue lightly – too much tension can mess up your shot.
2

Aim With Precision
Use the ghost ball method: imagine where the cue ball needs to hit the target ball to sink it. Lining up your shot properly is half the battle!
3

Control The Cue Ball
Want to set up your next shot like a pro? Master spin (also called ‘English’). Hitting the cue ball high makes it follow forward, low makes it stop or reverse, and side spin helps curve your shot.
4

Don't Hit The Balls Too Hard
Smashing the balls isn’t going to make your accuracy any better, it’s going to actually do the opposite. Accelerate gradually as you approach the ball, hitting it with a longer stroke and following through with the cue.
