Got a question?

Can I book all the axe throwing lanes?

Yes you can, for further information please head to our Hire page and fill out the enquiry form and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.

Can I take part in axe throwing if I'm pregnant?

Axe throwing is a relatively low-intensity activity so there is no reason why you can not play. If you have any concerns please consult a doctor. If you are in the third trimester of your pregnancy or within three months of giving birth, we strongly recommend you talk to a medical professional before participating.

Is axe throwing for 18s and over only?

No-one under the age of 18 will be allowed to enter or throw. We operate a Challenge 25 venue and you will be asked to provide photographic ID (UK/ EU Passport, provisional or full UK/ EU driving license or any ID carrying the PASS hologram).   We have the right to refuse entry if you do not present the correct ID.

Can I drink alcohol before or during my axe throwing session?

We strongly advise against drinking beforehand. If you have not been drinking prior to your session, we do allow people to have a drink and have strict guidelines on the amount you may consume. Should our instructors believe you are behaving in a unsafe manner you'll be asked to spectate and/or leave the Throw Zone or venue.

Is axe throwing safe?

Safety is our highest priority. There should always only be one person in the axe throwing lane at any time and axes should only ever be thrown down empty lanes. No axes are to be taken outside the cage. Like any sport which has sharp implements, there is always an element of risk, but this should be a safe activity if you follow the instructions provided by our team. Everyone will receive guidance on how to throw an axe as the single biggest risk is the axe itself. Our cage is designed with safety in mind, with a single entrance in the middle with mesh in between the lanes and behind the thrower to protect anyone in the cage and other members of the group outside the cage. We have a strict set of operating procedures which ensure that axes are handled, stored and managed in a safe manner.  Anyone behaving dangerously will be reprimanded immediately.

Can we have spectators at axe throwing?

Yes, but we have limited space as long as you don't enter the lane or sit on the dedicated seating for throwing. No ticket is needed. Please just ask one of the team.

Can I wear fancy dress to my axe throwing session?

Yes, as long as it doesn't impair your ability to throw an axe. We also ask you to keep other guests in mind and if your costume is causing offense to other players you'll be asked to change your clothing.

Can I bring my own Axe?

No - we only use our own. We offer throwers a choice of high quality throwing axes to ensure that you are able to reach your peak performance!

What should I wear for axe throwing?

Players must wear closed-toe shoes, we recommend comfortable trainers or flat shoes with grip.

What time should I arrive for axe throwing?

We ask all players to arrive at least 10 minutes before the session time. In order to get the maximum amount of time, please complete the waiver and check in process before you arrive.

Do I need to sign a waiver to play axe throwing?

All guests must sign a Waiver agreeing to our Axe Throwing terms before they can start axe throwing. Players must be over 18 to participate.

I can't make my axe throwing session, can I get a refund or reschedule my session?

Our bookings are non-refundable but MyLight members can cancel leisure activities 24 hours ahead of the booking and get a credit for the value of the booking. These credits are valid for 3 months.

If you checked out as a guest, you can link your booking to your account by signing up or logging in and clicking the "Booked as a guest" button on your account menu.

You can view your credit balance in myAccount and you can spend credits by selecting them as a payment option on the payment page while booking a film or leisure activity.

Do you sell tickets for axe throwing on the door?

Yes, we do but these will be subject to availability. We recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment.

Can I book tickets for axe throwing today?

Yes, check our website for availability but we recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment. You are welcome to turn up to the venue and if we have availability, we'll happily get you throwing.

My group is too large for one axe throwing lane, can we still play?

You can book up to 12 people online, your group may be split across multiple lanes. For larger bookings please contact our private hire team.

What's your capacity for axe throwing?

Each lane can accommodate up to 6 players. Please speak to our private hire team if you are interested in booking a larger group.

How do axe throwing sessions work?

Sessions range from 45 -90 minutes depending on size of the group and each lane consists of one target. Limit on lanes is 6 people. Sessions start with an introduction from on of our instructor which includes safety information and practice throws to learn how to throw.
